Decoupage

I've dealt with adornment of objects for three years now. It causes me huge joy and i'm glad that i have an oportunity to share it with you. My work is devided to thematic categories related mainly with material of given object (timber, jewellery, pottery, glass, etc.). You will also find handmade objects, not related with decoupage technic, such as patchwork or embroidery. I hope you will find something interesting.

Decoupage - came to Europe from China. French noblewomen cultivated it in XIX century (so did queen Maria Antonia). Name has been taken from french verb "decouper" which means to cut out. Decoupage technic is art of decorating by gluing colored paper cut outs onto surface. Before that object is painted on desirable colors with acrylic paint. Object can be decorated, depending on requirement, with many technics, such as crack. With decoupage we can decorate many things from timber, glass, ceramics to artificial and other materials.
